Killaloe — It was a clear, crisp December day when Santa came to town supported by the community and lots of floats and spectators.

The 76th annual Killaloe Lions Santa Claus Parade was held on Saturday with a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus following in the Lions Hall.

The Tom Schmidt Construction float won first place, followed by the Friendship Club with second place and the youth group with third place.

The event is one of several held in the Killaloe community during the Christmas season and participants were also remined of the annual “Dinner of Good Cheer” which will be held at the Killaloe Lions Hall on December 24 in the afternoon. The cost for this event is by donation, with a suggestion of $15.
